Some Possible Trips

By far our most popular trip is the 'half day' return journey to Wightwick lock and back. This is especially popular with schools because it fits in so well with the school day.

We usually start at 10am with a stop for a picnic lunch at noon, returning to the Centre at around 2.15pm.

Larger groups (over 20 people) can be catered for by splitting the group so that half take the boat whilst the others walk to the picnic site and then swap over for the return trip.
We can supply an environmental worker to cover the walk or a map both pointing out things of interest along the way.

A full day trip of up to 8 hours could take you to Brewood, Dimmingsdale or Calf Heath giving time for groups to do a variety of activities including youth work, staff meetings, training, team building or picnics in a relaxed setting.

An evening boat trip of around 3 hours is the same trip as the 'half day', but with an immediate turnaround at Wightwick.

There's also the option of combining a boat trip with a canal history session, looking at the "lost village of Aldersley".

Whilst on the boat there is access to pencils and crayons, clipboards and worksheets, as well as the opportunity to steer the boat.

Tea/Coffee and hot water etc can be arranged at an extra cost
