NEW Summer Programme
Our new programme of activities fhe Summer Holidays is now available. It includes boat trips, a story trail, canal art, cooking, den building and lots more.
NEW Cycle rides
We have more dates for our open cycle rides. They will be on Sunday 22nd April, Sunday 6th May, Friday 18th May and Wednesday 30th May from 10.30 am to 12 noon. £2 per head.
We will also be running two evenings on Bike Maintenance on Friday June 15th - changing a tyre and puncturesand Friday June 22nd - brakes and gears. Both from 6.30 to 8pm. £10 per head for the two sessions.
Fresh Ideas for Outdoor Education
This new project is called Fresh Ideas for Outdoor Education. Itaims to help teachers who want to improve the use of outdoor education to support the curriculum at their school. This will offer one half-day session at a considerably reduced price to around 20 schools or voluntary organisations, two alternative training days for teachers and the potential for our Conservation Volunteers to undertake separately costed work on outdoor areas at school sites. The first training day is on 27th April, please ring us to book your place. The second training day is on 19th September.
Wildside Watch Group
This Group is for children age 5-11 who are interested in wildlife. It normally meets in term time on the second Sunday of the month from 10am to 12 noon. The group meets next on May 13th. Please ring us if a new child wants to join.
This group is for pre-school children to explore the natural world and become more confident in outdoor play. The leader is fully trained in the Forest School approach. Children love it. These Monday sessions are offered either from 9.30 to 11am or 1 to 2.30pm. Cost £3 per session per child. Please ring us if you would like to bring your child.
Since this January, we are a recognised Learning Destination for the Children’s University. Children aged 7 to 14 can bring their Passport to Learning to most of our activities and ask for their hours completed to be recorded.
Bird Watching Walks
The Spring series of these ever popular walks has started. Wednesdays from 10am to 12.00 noon for six weeks from 28th March.There are only a few spaces left so if you want to book, please get in touch with the office to get your name on the list and get information on where the walk will take place.
