Open Cycle Rides

 

We have three open family cycle rides coming up on Sunday October 29th, Sunday November 19th and Sunday December 10th. 10.30 am  to 12 noon. Age 10 plus. Booking essential. £2 per person. If you have been thinking of getting your bike out, book now - free safety check and good company. Some bikes available to borrow.

Tree Biology Course

Bob Watson, well known author, lecturer and arboriculturalist, will be starting his course on Tree Biology on Saturday 14th October. The course is to be held at Wildside and runs for 4 Saturdays. October Half-term Holiday Programme – 23rd - 28th October

Little Explorers

This group is for pre-school children to explore the natural world and get more confident in outdoor play. The leader is fully trained in the Forest School approach. Children love it and it is so successful that we now offer a Monday afternoon session as well as Monday mornings. These Monday sessions run from 9.30 to 11am or 1 to 2.30pm. Cost £3 per session per child. Please ring us if you would like to bring your child.

The Watch Group

This Group is for children age 5-11 who are interested in wildlife. The group breaks over the summer holidays. It normally meets in term time on the second Sunday of the month from 10am to 12 noon.The next meeting is on 8th Oct when the theme will be ‘Wonderful water - the source of life’. Please ring to tell us if a new child wants to join.

Wildside community allotment

Join our volunteers on the allotment in Crowther Road on Thursday afternoons this month on October 5th, 12th and 19th. Good company and a share in what is picked.

 

Thinking ahead to Christmas – dates for your diary

Our Christmas Crafts Day is planned for Saturday 25th November. Get ahead – make presents and take them away with you.

We are planning two new Santa trips on the boat. On a short boat trip, children will follow the clues to find the key to Santa’s trunk, so he can give out the presents when they get back. Saturday 9th December and Saturday 16th December from 10.30 to 12.30. Full details to follow on the website.
